Díaz praises Alisson after beating Brazil

Luis Díaz shared an emotional embrace with his Liverpool teammate Alisson after scoring twice past the goalkeeper in Colombia’s 2-1 win over Brazil in the early hours of yesterday morning. Díaz’s heroics came just days after Colombian guerrillas freed his kidnapped father. “Alisson told me he’s very happy because he knows what we went through,” said Díaz. “He is a great person, I admire him a lot because off the field he is a great human being and he gave me all the support I could have to be calm in those difficult moments.” Díaz burst into tears at full time and dedicated the win to his father, who was in the stands.
