Protesters storm track

Police made seven arrests after a group of environmental activists ran on to the Silverstone track moments after the first lap was red flagged ( below). The group sat down on the circuit and were dragged away by marshals. Northamptonshire police, who said on Friday they had credible intelligence that a protest was planned, said: “All those involved were removed safely and a number of arrests were made.”
