Shamanism: three easy steps

1) Spend a few moments each day connecting with one of the four elements – earth, air, fire, water. Notice details such as how the wind feels when you go out for a walk. Take time to feel the water passing your lips when drinking.

2) While listening to steady drumbeats, breathe in deeply and slowly for five to 10 minutes. Notice how you feel during and afterwards. This can be developed into shamanic journeying when you feel ready. Good for regulating and de-stressing after a hard day.

3) Think about feeling grateful for the earth, land and ancestors. Gratitude is good for our body, mind, soul and community. It takes us out of a spectator state and back into connection with ourselves and those around us. This can help with lowering anxiety levels.
