Draper setback rules him out of Miami Open

Jack Draper has been forced to withdraw from this week’s Miami Open as he attempts to recover from an abdominal muscle. The 21-year-old suffered a slight tear to his oblique muscle at Indian Wells and retired early in the second set of a fourth-round match against Carlos Alcaraz, who won the tournament and became the new world No 1. Draper, the world No 43, was plagued with injuries in 2021 but had managed to play 22 events last year.
