A huge detailed composite image of the sun, featuring a fiery tornado shooting 100,000 miles into space from its surface, was captured by two astrophotographers during a week of unprecedented solar activity. Jason Guenzel and Andrew McCarthy, of Arizona, took five days to produce the 140-megapixel image by layering the best of 200,000 photographs on top of each other.
