Tobacco takeover not such a good wheeze
Asthma inhaler maker Vectura was excluded from a pharmaceutical conference after academics objected to its £1.1bn takeover by a tobacco firm. Marlboro maker Philip Morris International sealed the deal last Thursday, but within hours news broke of Vectura’s removal as a sponsor of, and participant in, a conference, set for this week, called Formulation and Delivery UK.
