Man held after fatal stabbing

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was stabbed to death in Droylsden, Greater Manchester. The 28-year-old remained in custody and a police cordon was still in place at Edge Lane in the town yesterday. Greater Manchester Police’s Tameside’s district commander, Ch Supt Phil Davies, said: “This is still the early stages of the investigation and we are keeping an open mind.”
