Mortgages are pulled over rate rise worries
Lenders have withdrawn more than 800 mortgage deals as concerns grow about further interest rate rises, amid stubbornly high inflation. The number of residential mortgage deals fell by almost 7% in a week, according to Moneyfacts. Separate data showed mortgage lending at the lowest monthly level on record and property valuations falling at the fastest annual rate in 14 years.
