Pick of the day

Davina McCall’s Pill Revolution 9pm, Channel 4

Kudos to anyone who’s up for being filmed while getting their coil changed in the name of education. Davina McCall is the woman of the hour in this brilliant documentary that investigates women’s ongoing problems with contraception – one says she is “likely infertile” after symptoms she had from taking the pill masked endometriosis. Would more research into it have already been done if men used it? Of course! But McCall does a great job of calling for change. HR

Five Star Kitchen: Britain’s Next Great Chef

8pm, Channel 4

Michel Roux Jr is on the hunt for a cook to open a restaurant at five-star hotel the Langham. In a not entirely original format, he’ll charge contenders with challenges including a lavish banquet, late-night room service and an exclusive chef’s table. HR

Tonight: Lindsey and Rob – Living With MND

8.30pm, ITV1

Last month, former Leeds Rhinos players Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield hosted and took part in the inaugural Leeds marathon to raise money for motor neurone disease (which Burrow was diagnosed with in 2019). Burrow’s wife and carer, Lindsey, also ran the marathon, and this moving documentary shows the couple’s story in the lead-up to the event. HR

Who Do You Think You Are? 9pm, BBC One

Having played Anne Boleyn in

Wolf Hall and Elizabeth II in The Crown, Claire Foy is no stranger to historical research and she’s clearly jazzed to be uncovering the lives of her great-great-grandparents. The results range from tragic to thrilling, and Foy even deploys her acting skills to create a dramatic reconstruction of the past. GV

Forced Out

9pm, Sky Documentaries

It’s staggering to think that it remained illegal to be gay in the UK armed forces until 2000. This documentary tells the frequently enraging stories of some of the men and women who were dishonourably discharged, lost service medals and pensions and even faced prison as a result of their sexual orientation. Thankfully, it also tracks the fight for justice. PH

Man Like Mobeen 10pm, BBC Three

Guz Khan’s Birmingham-set comedy-drama is back for a fourth series, with Mobeen nearing the end of his prison sentence. There’s potential undercover policework on offer, attempts to bring interinmate peace “through the power of bars” and plenty of great banter. “I’m an average height in Pakistan!” quips one guard. “Yeah, for an 83-year-old auntie!” AD

Pick of the day

Lizzo: Live in Concert 10pm, BBC Three

Anyone who saw Lizzo’s recent Special tour will readily vouch for this recording of the last show being 90 minutes of euphoria. The Grammy-winning, flute-tooting, twerking singer performs banger after banger – including Juice, Good As Hell and About Damn Time – with her band the Lizzbians and the Little Bigs. HR

The Big Interiors Battle: The Final

8pm, Channel 4

Who’s going to be handed the keys to a £250,000 apartment, then? In this finale, they’ll have to impress judge Dara Huang the most by transforming a hallway based on their personalities before she makes a decision. HR

Poker Face 9pm, Sky Max

Natasha Lyonne’s lion-haired detective finds herself solving a murder in a retirement home this week – and the two rebellious women she meets residing there are a hoot. In the second episode of the night she witnesses a death on a theatre stage. HR

Der Pass

9pm, Sky Atlantic

A third season for the brooding, supernatural-flecked German drama, which started life as a remake of Nordic hit The Bridge. As it begins, Detective Stocker is haunted by the death of colleague Yela, and is on a quest to bring those she believes are responsible to justice – including former colleague Gedeon. Hannah J Davies

Black Ops 9.30pm, BBC One

Dom finally gets to say the words: “This isn’t just some bent coppers any more, this goes all the way to the top,” as the hapless pair conclude their adventures. First, they need to find a safe place to hide Clinton’s dossier, sell a load of heroin and escape from a car boot. Hannah Verdier

The Chris & Rosie Ramsey Show 10.40pm, BBC One

This chatshow usually works so well because the celebrity guest brings their spouse along and allows a comic probing of their relationship. Will that be the same with Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely of Diversity fame, who are merely friends and Kiss radio co-presenters? JS
