Steve Lamacq Thu, 4pm, 6 Music Who Killed Aldrich Kemp? Fri, 2.15pm, Radio 4

Graeme Virtue

Tonight’s show from station perennial Lamacq marks the beginning of this year’s 6 Music festival. Lammo will be live from Manchester’s Band on the Wall, building up to performances from the Lathums, Antony Szmierek and Affleck’s Palace, a so-called “Nu-Madchester” combo who claim to channel the spirit of the chaotic 1990 Stone Roses Spike Island gig. Elsewhere, look out for performances from, among others, Christine and the Queens (pictured above) and Arlo Parks. Phil Harrison

This sequel to last year’s self-aware five-part spy romp Who is Aldrich Kemp? sees insouciant operative Clara Page (Phoebe Fox) back on duty, cramming a post-coital egg and cheese sandwich in her mush while shadowing a Venezuelan hitman. Secret agent stalwarts Bond and Bourne are namechecked in this first episode but it feels more akin to classic Steedand-Peel Avengers: a gleeful game of shadows populated by eccentric characters armed with either sniper rifles or stiletto-sharp repartee.
